New hydraulic press for EVA production
Following intensive preparations, nora systems is currently putting into operation a new hydraulic press. It operates in the EVA production, for a further advance in quality and productivity.
As you may know, the production of EVA involves first heating the raw materials in the closed press, and then opening the press so that the material virtually explodes to three times its original size in fractions of a second. This recalls to the mind of how a grain of corn suddenly transforms into popcorn.
Yet it needs no reminding that this process is based on a highly complex chain of events. A number of factors affecting the quality of the end product here are of a technical nature: firstly, the forces holding the hydraulic press closed; and secondly, the speed at which it opens to provide the space for the “volumetric explosion”. These parameters for the new installation make it more powerful than its predecessor. But first there is still a lot to do until the new facilities can reach their optimal performance. This investment in the new press also testifies to the unswerving commitment to the production site in Weinheim, Baden-Württemberg for the greatest possible reliability and quality made in Germany.
Last year also saw nora systems invest quite a lot in the development of its employees and the equipment at its location. For instance, its training and information centre, where inhouse events are hosted, underwent extensive renovations and was given a fresh, new facelift. Also at the focus: the subject of e-learning. On this basis, nora systems developed, for example, special sales training programmes. Also on offer are online seminars for communication techniques and time management.
